Mid-Year Resolutions

As we reach the midpoint of the school year, it is a good time to pause, reflect, and reaffirm our commitment to providing the best possible learning experience for students within our Tomorrow River Schools and also think about future plans and needs. One of our goals this year has been increasing public displays of learning. This includes classroom showcases or presentations, as well as larger community events so families and neighbors can see firsthand the creativity and growth happening every day. These celebrations of learning not only highlight student achievement, but also strengthen the relationship between our schools and the larger community while promoting future ready skills for our students.

Another focus has been deepening our district-wide commitment to STEAM education: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Our students K-12 are engaged in hands-on projects and interdisciplinary lessons that spark innovation and curiosity. Our middle school students have been engaged with our new drone curriculum as we explore this fast growing area. To further support our work in STEAM, we are piloting new math resources designed to build strong foundational skills while encouraging problem solving and collaboration. We are excited to continue refining these tools throughout the year and adopt new resources for the 2026-27 school year.

In addition to academic growth, we remain committed to educating and supporting the whole child through Social and Emotional Learning. Our schools are incorporating strategies that build collaboration, community, resilience, and good communication skills. Morning meetings, advisory time, and relationship building activities are helping students feel connected and supported, all of which are essential in creating safe and thriving learning environments. This also helps build the employability skills that our community businesses are asking for.

Looking ahead to next year, we know that budget planning will require careful consideration. With economic uncertainty affecting communities across Wisconsin, as well as a decrease in state school funding, Tomorrow River is preparing to make thoughtful and transparent decisions that prioritize student needs while remaining fiscally responsible. Even in challenging times, our commitment to high quality education remains strong. As always, we will continue to collaborate with families, staff, and community members to ensure our schools remain a source of pride and opportunity for everyone. We are better together. Thanks for your support and partnerships.
