Class of 2025 Graduation, Student Growth, and Summer Welcome

As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, we focus on celebrating our graduating seniors, welcoming our new classes of learners, and using the summer to re-establish our balance and find inspiration. On Friday, May 23, families, friends, community members, and educators gathered for our AHS graduation ceremony to honor our seniors who had not only met academic expectations, but have grown into young adults ready to embrace their next chapter. For many of our graduates (and families), it’s a bittersweet goodbye to a place that shaped their formative years.

Graduation, however, isn’t the only milestone taking place. Across the district, students of all ages are preparing for the next grade level. From our soon-to-be freshmen stepping up to high school, to middle schoolers leaving elementary behind, and to our new group of 4K learners, each life promotion marks an important step in personal and academic development. These transitions are a reminder that growth is constant and that every student, at every stage, has a story of transformation to tell.

The summer season also brings a deeper reflection for educators and families alike. Watching students mature into confident, curious, and capable individuals reaffirms the importance of school as not just a place of instruction, but of personal growth. Growth that speaks to our Profile of a Learner and our commitment to: collaboration, citizenship, communication, character, and critical thinking. Teachers proudly watch our students move forward, knowing that every lesson, challenge, and encouragement has contributed to the students’ readiness for what’s ahead.

June’s arrival feels perfectly timed. The month offers an opportunity to exhale after months of hard work and busy days full of structure and activities. June brings balance and peace, giving students and staff a well-earned chance to slow down and reconnect. In Wisconsin, where summer is even more anxiously awaited, June invites everyone to enjoy long daylight hours, afternoons by the water, and additional time with family and friends.

Once again, to our graduating class of 2025, we are proud of you. We are proud of your efforts and who you have become as young adults. Your group is distinguished by their accomplishments, as well as your aspirations. As our graduating class moves on and our younger students walk proudly into their next phase, the message is clear: growth doesn’t end here. Our students (and young adults) will continue to grow in classrooms, with their summer jobs, family vacations, and in moments of summer fun. June is not just the end of a school year—it’s the start of new beginnings and new possibilities. Have a great summer and go Falcons!
