Requirements:

AgCountry Farm Credit Services is offering scholarships for high school seniors entering college in the fall. Scholarship awards are $1,000 each. Applicants must be from an actively farming or ranching family OR must be planning to pursue a career in farming or some other aspect of agriculture such as agricultural extension, agricultural education, soil conservation, farm and ranch management, agricultural finance, veterinary medicine or agribusiness.

Applicants must be residents of a county served by AgCountry in ND, MN or WI.

Requirements:

 Richard A. Eckberg Memorial Scholarship? $1,000 (One scholarship available)  Awarded to an individual enrolled in an accredited technical or undergraduate program. Applicant must be enrolled in a clinical health care field and a Portage County resident.  

Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship? $1,000 (One scholarship available) Awarded to an individual enrolled in an accredited technical, undergraduate, graduate or doctoral program.  Applicant must be enrolled in a health care field and a Portage County resident.  

Janice and Robert Weaver Memorial Scholarship? $1,000 (One scholarship available) Awarded to an associate of Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital or Ascension Medical Group who is enrolled in an accredited technical, undergraduate, graduate or doctoral program.  Applicant must be enrolled in a health care field.   

Applicants can only be awarded one scholarship; however, applicants are allowed to apply for more than one.

How to Apply:

  • Complete and sign the scholarship application.
  • Submit a copy of an official college transcript (if already enrolled) or your high school transcript.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from individuals not related to you. One letter must be from someone affiliated with a school you currently or previously attended.
  • Include a Personal Statement essay.
  • Include a Financial Need statement.
  • Mail one copy of all the above items to Saint Michael’s Foundation by March 5, 2018. No loose materials can be sent separately or added to the application at a later date.

WEAC Region 2 Scholarship Local 3/15/2019 $500
Requirements:

Region 2 will grant scholarships to two high school seniors, who are the children of WEAC Region 2 members, and are planning to continue their education after graduation by attending a University or Technical College program.

High school seniors, graduating from a Wisconsin public high school, are eligible if their parent(s) or legal guardian qualifies in one of the following membership categories:  

  1. active member of WEAC Region 2,
  2. active retired member who retired from a current WEAC Region 2 local,
  3. or a parent who died while holding an active membership with a current WEAC Region 2 local.

The parent or guardian’s membership must be confirmed by the local union treasurer.  In addition, the student must rank in the top 25% of his/her class or have achieved a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
