The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has made it easier to obtain a work permit for your child.  A work permit is required before anyone under the age of 16 is allowed to work in any job except for agriculture or domestic service work.

Amherst High School will no longer issue work permits. 

Minors should receive a written Intent to Hire letter with the employer's correct mailing address to ensure that: a) the minor has been hired by the employer, and b) the minor has the employer's correct mailing address.
