PARKING PERMITS

Students wishing to drive to school and park in the student parking lot must purchase a Student Parking Permit. The permit costs $40 (full year, $20 half year) and covers one school year. Students are required to park in Parking Lot A, which is the parking lot by the football field, behind the cafeteria.

To purchase a Student Parking Permit, you must fill out a Student Parking Permit Form. This form is available through Skyward Family/Student Access and should be filled out online. If you are a new student to Amherst High School (or if you are a parent/student who does not know your Skyward login/password), please contact the HS Office.

Once you have submitted a completed form, you can pay your fee online through Skyward, or you can mail a check for $40 to:

Amherst High School
Parking Permit
357 N Main Street
Amherst, WI 54406

Your student can also drop off the check in the HS Office once school begins. Once the form is complete and the fee is paid, the student will receive his/her parking permit. Permits must be hung from the rear-view mirror of your vehicle and be visible at all times when your vehicle is parked on school property.

Please note that a parking permit DOES NOT give students permission to park on Main Street in front of the school. The village regulates parking on all village streets and can ask the Portage County Sheriff's Department to issue tickets at any time. Street parking on the West (school) side of Main Street should be reserved for school visitors. There is no parking on the East side of Main Street.

Also, remember not to park in any spot that is not designated for parking. Do no park by hydrants or along a curb that is painted yellow, and do not park in spots designated for those with handicap credentials!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the HS Office at 715-824-5522 ext 2.
