Student Handbook
Each student at Amherst High School is responsible for knowing and following the rules and guidelines stated in the AHS Student Handbook.
The AHS Student Handbook is updated every September and is approved by the Tomorrow River School Board.
Information available in the Student Handbook includes the school mission statement, non-discrimination policy, attendance, discipline notice guidelines, counseling, co-curricular activities, code of conduct, and our technology acceptable use policy. Students can also find information on such things as grading, dress code, parking, early graduation, graduation requirements, cell phone and backpack policies, etc.

Curriculum Handbook
The Curriculum Handbook lists all of the classes available to Amherst High School students. In the beginning of the handbook, you'll find a list of the classes available in each department, along with any pre-requisites, appropriate grade level, and course progressions. You can also find information about special programs and opportunities, such as Advanced Placement classes (e.g., AP Calculus), Early College Credit Program (ECCP classes allow high school students to earn college credits), dual credit classes (students earn credit from both AHS and Mid-State Technical College), and more.
The bulk of the Curriculum Handbook includes descriptions of each class offered at AHS. Not sure what Digital Journalism is all about? Use the Curriculum Handbook!
The Curriculum Handbook is updated in the fall and usually published in late November or early December for the next school year. Students will need to be familiar with the classes in the handbook in order to create a list of classes they would like to take next year. Students usually create their Wish List of desired future classes in December or January.
