District Administrator’s Message
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! The Tomorrow River School District is truly a special place that balances innovation with tradition, and prides itself on providing opportunities for all of our students and the greater community. One of our goals is to be the premier destination school district in Central Wisconsin.
The Tomorrow River School District is a PK-12 district with an enrollment of about 1,200 students. We have an amazing staff that includes approximately 100 certified staff and 60 support staff. The District comprises around 100 square miles of Portage County. The main school site is located in the Village of Amherst in Central Wisconsin, 16 miles east of Stevens Point and 12 miles west of Waupaca. Our charter school is located in Amherst Junction and is housed at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, which is about eight miles from our main campus.
On April 5, 2022, the district passed a 26 million dollar referendum, which includes a new 38,000-square foot, two-story STEAM addition; office and secure entry addition; and middle school, food science and library remodeling. The passing of this referendum was a tribute to the support the school district receives from the community. The Wolding STEAM Center embodies the support we have from our community and sets us apart as a district that is innovative and improving in all we do.
Additional evidence of the community support comes in the form of our Falcon Pride Project which has raised more than $2 million in donations allowing the district to complete Phase I of the project in 2019 with a new soccer/football/multi-use artificial turf stadium, a new 8-lane track and field events area, as well as expanded parking. Phase II of this project has made major improvements to our baseball and softball fields, as well as to the construction of a new community walking trail on campus. This Fall we will be rolling out our most updated fundraising efforts with #FalconsFly with specific areas of need being: buildings and grounds (a new fitness center and additional district van), district SEL efforts, support for our environmentally based charter school, and support for our technology plan.
We continue to improve our curriculum and technology needs as we prepare our students to be future ready. During the 2023-2024 school year, we finished our “Profile of a Learner” to highlight the characteristics we want to see in all of our students. The Profile of a Learner has guided us in our classrooms as we set a goal this year for more public displays of learning.
