Instructor: Kaycie Peck (also Art Club Advisor and SPECTURA Co-Advisor)
Ms. Kaycie grew up in Hartford, Wis., and earned her Bachelor's of Science in Art Education at UW-Madison in 2012.
The courses offered in the AHS Art Department slowly build independence in creative decision making, utilizing the Studio Habits of Mind. For Introductory courses, the focus is for students to build their artistic skills and techniques. As they progress through Intermediate and Advanced courses, the focus is to flex their creative problem-solving muscles, coming up with unique ideas and concepts.

2022 Artist in Residence: John Kowalczyk
AHS students spent several weeks working with painter, muralist, and mixed media artist John Kowalczyk on an art installation for the Cafeteria in Spring 2022. Shown here are some in-progress shots of the art, with a variety of middle school and high school students helping out, as well as one of the final pieces.
