This week we're celebrating the theme: “Messengers of Hope.” Let’s kick it off by remembering: a kind word can change someone’s whole day. Today, be a messenger of hope by complimenting someone or offering a smile—you never know who needs it most. You learned last week that Green is the awareness color for mental health. Let’s all wear green this Friday!

Green Lights: You will be seeing green lights in your classrooms. Green is the color for Mental Health Awareness and this month is Mental Health Awareness month. That light is a small way we’re showing support and reminding each other that mental health matters. This year’s theme is Messengers of Hope. That means doing small things that make a big difference—checking in on a friend, showing up for someone, or just being kind. The green light is a symbol of that. A reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, and it’s always okay to ask for help. So if you’re having a tough time, or you know someone who is, don’t stay silent. That light is there to remind us—we’re not alone, and there’s always hope."

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Earth Week dress up days and trivia questions! Friday’s Earth Day trivia question: What is the most commonly littered item? Cigarette butts. (Winner: Jason Martin, Mr. Pickering, Jaxson Smith). Some honorable mention answers from last week were “cows, planes, and flying cows” and “the slicing dicing tomato”. Thank you again to everyone who celebrated Earth Week!

TRASH Ultimate played some incredible frisbee this weekend in Madison. Playing in the boys division with half of the team being composed of girls would usually be seen as a disadvantage, but TRASH embraced it and made their way into the championship bracket for Sunday, along with 4 teams from the Twin Cities, 1 from Chicago, and only 2 others from Wisconsin.  Ayden Kazda won the tournament MVP award with stats all over the board, great leadership, and an absolutely insane play that we decided to call a dumpster fire because it was just so mind-blowing. TRASH is looking forward to the state tournament now, but they desperately need more players to make it happen. See Mr. Swan to find out what it would take for you to participate!
