November 2021 - Spirit Article

As mentioned in my October Spirit article, the Tomorrow River School District is working with School Perceptions LLC, an independent firm with expertise in conducting community surveys. A comprehensive survey was mailed to all district residents during the last week of September, 2021, asking for input on any future potential building renovation and expansion needs. This survey also asked district residents if they are willing to support any future building referendums.

The survey window closed on October 18, 2021. School Perceptions has informed the school district that they received approximately 600 completed surveys, this equates to 25% of the total number of surveys that were mailed out to district residents. Thank you to all individuals who took the time to complete this important survey. Our goal with this survey is to see what, if any, future building expansion and or improvement projects the community will support. Your input is extremely valuable to us.

Since the closure of the survey, School Perceptions has been analyzing the survey data. This information will be shared by School Perceptions to the School Board at the November 15, 2021 School Board Meeting. This Board meeting will be livestreamed on the school district YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/TomorrowRiverSchoolDistrict. We will also post survey results on the school district website at www.amherst.k12.wi.us

This information will help guide our School Board in making decisions about long range facility planning and those decisions will be based on the input from the community.

The Wisconsin Association of School Boards designated October 3-9 as Wisconsin School Board Week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our communities. The Tomorrow River School District joined all public school districts across the state to celebrate Wisconsin School Board Week to honor local board members for their commitment to our children.

It takes strong schools to build a strong community, and these men and women devote countless hours to making sure our schools are helping every child learn at a higher level. They make the tough decisions every month and spend many hours studying education issues and regulations in order to provide the kind of accountability our citizens expect. The members serving our district and their years of service are as follows:

Mark Kryshak, Board President - 11 Years of Service

Kelly Loken, Vice President - 9 Years of Service

Diana Bohman, Board Clerk - 11 Years of Service

Bob Stuczynski, Board Treasurer - 9 Years of Service

Kirk Helbach, Member - 7 Years of Service

Thank you to not only the Tomorrow River School District School Board Members, but all School Board Members across the state of Wisconsin, for serving your children, school and community.
