The Tomorrow River School District is working with School Perceptions LLC, an independent firm with expertise in conducting community surveys. A comprehensive survey will be mailed to all district residents (this survey is also available on the district website) during the last week of September, 2021, asking for input on any future potential building renovation and expansion needs. The survey will also be asking district residents if they are willing to support any future building referendum. Final survey results will be reported at the November 15, 2021 School Board Meeting.

The District has spent the last year and a half completing a very thorough facility study, looking at all potential facility needs and renovations throughout the school building. The district is working with Hoffman Planning, Design, & Construction, Inc. out of Appleton, WI. The reason for this project is the fact that our school building is aging. Many of the classrooms and lab areas, especially in the science, agriculture, and technical education areas, lack space and equipment for hands-on learning. For school safety reasons, the school's main entries need to be redesigned to better monitor visitor access, requiring all visitors to be routed through the main office before gaining access to the main building. Instruction is taking place in areas of the school that were not intended to be classrooms. Some of the major building systems, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, electrical, fire alarm and security, have exceeded their service life and need to be replaced or updated. Also, some classroom floors, lighting, ceilings and casework need renovation. Areas around the building need to be updated to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

The School District gathered input from community members, business leaders, staff, school board members, administration and high school students. Additionally, during the last school year, an anonymous survey was sent out to all families with students in the district. The survey was also placed on the district website and Facebook page.  The results were grouped into similar categories by Hoffman.

Now that we have a master construction plan developed and know the needs of the district, it is once again time to seek the input of our residents. Once you receive the survey, please complete and return the survey by October 18, 2021. It is critical that we receive as many responses from the public as possible to help us determine what direction we will go in the future as a school district.
