The Tomorrow River School District is now offering an additional elective reading course for high school students. It is entitled Readers Workshop. This course will be available all quarters. It is offered either for a ½ credit to be used toward the humanities requirement or can be taken for no credit if desired. Readers Workshop will run during the third hour study hall in the library, taught by Ms. Zastrow. This class will be a project based class where students will choose their own reading selections and create a project to validate learning. This reading class of popular literature is being implemented to help improve literacy and vocabulary while engaging students in self-selected text. These book selections will be reviewed by Ms. Zastrow for appropriateness, reading level suitability, and future book suggestions. Students will be introduced to creating blogs, trailers, commercials, etc as possible project ideas.
