My name is Kristin Vanden Acker and I am one of the 6th grade teachers at Amherst Middle School. I graduated in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Comprehensive Learning Disabilities and Regular Education Degree.

This is my first year teaching at Amherst Middle School and I am really enjoying myself thus far. One of my favorite things about the Amherst School District is the support I receive from the staff and the parents. Also each of my students is extremely hard working, polite and a joy to be around. Being a part of a school district like that makes me excited to build relationships with my students and experience the wonderful journey of 6th grade with them.

As an educator, my goal is to provide every student with the tools they need to succeed, inside and outside of my classroom. I am a strong believer in differentiated instruction to help students learn and grow. Overall, I want each student to feel they are able to learn in a positive enviornment that allows them to ask questions and not be afraid to make mistakes.
