Hello,

my name is Jolynn Wucherer and I am the Amherst Band Director. I teach both the high school and middle school instrumental programs, and also several general music classes. I grew up just a short drive away, on a small dairy farm in Rosholt, WI.  After high school graduation, I attended UW-Oshkosh (where I met my husband) majoring in Music Therapy.  After almost three years in that major, I decided my real passion was teaching music and i wanted to be in a school setting. I changed my major to Music Education and never looked back!  I have the greatest job in the world....in any given day I get to play a variety of instruments and make music with students who want to be there!  My primary instrument was Bassoon, but I have played piano since I was a child.  Recently, I have really taken to playing the trombone!
