First Grade Teacher

     Hi, and welcome to first grade! I’m Ms. Govier and this is my second year at Amherst Elementary School.  I am a 2011 graduate of Winona State University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood.  I am enjoying my time at Amherst Elementary and love how supportive the staff and parents are in our district.

It has been my life goal to become an educator and I thoroughly enjoy each day I spend with the students and staff here in Amherst. As an educator, I believe it is key to embrace the whole child. Not only do I want students to grow and succeed academically, but also socially, emotionally, and physically.

I am dedicated to being a life-long learner. I love teaching and enjoy spending each and every day helping students grow as learners. I want my students to not only become life-long learners, but also have fun doing it!
